The compass is no longer working. What can I do?
Luckily there is a way to recharge and recalibrate it.

Come back after you've borrowed something from Deirdre.

If you have the blue ball, tap it in inventory to read the instructions.

First you need to dunk the compass in fresh WATER three times.

Luckily there's readily available fresh water right outside.

Go to the FOUNTAIN and tap for a closeup. Drag the compass into the water three times. You will hear a beep each time and a final beep when you've solved it.

Now you need to calibrate it on three ALIENS at once.

Where can you find three aliens at once? Preferably without their scary dogs?

Come back when you have three aliens lined up.

When all three aliens are standing in the hallway, use the compass on them to calibrate it.
